Honest Christianity – rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep

What a week! A week when there has been much rejoicing. The verse from Romans 12.15 is one we have talked about before in previous blogs. The reason for coming back to it this week is that it has been one of those bizarre ones. On Tuesday I graduated with CYM with an MA in chaplaincy. It is always a good day as we see our students graduate. Thursday was also a silly day, we got to see provisional 3rd and 4th episodes of the BBC 2 series Children’s Hospital: The Chaplains which starts on Monday 27th October, 7,30 on BBC2. Then in the evening, we had the press preview of episode one. Without giving, anything away, there was not a dry eye in the house. Then I had a late birthday present – the afternoon on a Harley Davidson trike and driving up and down the coast. Wow!!

One of the valuable insights from Celtic Spirituality that we try to embrace is the importance of celebration. This week there has been much. As with normal life there is always another side. In a week’s time I will be travelling back to Essex to bury my Mum’s ashes and weeping with those who weeep will come to the fore.

  1. Sounds like a very action packed week! I look forward to having an insight into what goes on at BCH. I hope all goes as well as possible when it comes to burying your Mum’s ashes. Praying for you in both the happy and sad times.
