Friday photo – light of the world

Altar cloth 2

This is the new altar cloth in the Chapel of Birmingham Hospital made by the wonderful Tina and her team of praying women. I sat at Communion yesterday just looking at it, the love, the prayer, the creativity, the inspiration, the hope, the encouragement, the reminder of one of my favourite metaphors for Jesus – the light of the world (John 8.12).

The Chapel at the hospital is a very special space, soaked in prayer over the years, a tranquil spot where you can rest and be and give to God the darkness, the burdens, the things that have held you back and as you leave you get a glimpse of the light, the light of Christ that shines in the darkness and helps to to take the next step along the way….
