Wondering Wednesdays – attitude of wonder


On Sunday we did our usual stop at Buckfast Abbey on the way home from Cornwall. This postcard caught my eye. In the middle are some words of John Paul II:
Faced with the sacredness of life and of the human person, and before the marvels of the universe, wonder is the only appropriate attitude.

Turning the card over it becomes clear it is about care for the environment and the headlines is ONE HUMAN FAMILY SHARING A COMMON HOME. The concept is described like this:
When we recognise and grow in wonder that we are all brothers and sisters living in one common home, it will not only affect how we care for the environment but, more importantly, how we care for one another, how we welcome and accept those with different needs and abilities, refugees, elderly, the unborn, the forgotten and the abandoned.
