Friday photo – remembering

poppy

I have stood in Flanders fields and on the beaches of the D Day landing and remembered those who gave their lives with gratitude and remember too those whose lives were shattered by these deaths. I mourn that we do not appear to have learnt some of the lessons that we might have done but continue to hope that ultimately love and peace will win.

In Birmingham next week it is love your neighbour week
(see https://www.loveyourneighbour.org/)alongside Interfaith week and Anti-bullying week. This is an opportunity to focus on a different narrative, one of hope, of reaching out, of breaking down barriers and of peace, love and understanding.

This picture was taken in Shrewsbury Abbey.
