I spend a lot of time driving and think I know which exits to take. However the new M6 A14 interchange fooled me – I had assumed that staying in the same lane kept me on the same road – foolish mistake and a metaphor for life sometimes.
I was not sure whether to keep on going or turn back. In the end we kept on going and decided to do ai I pilgrimage to Bradwell on Sea where Paul could connect with his Essex Celtic heritage as that is where Cedd built a chapel much of which is still standing. Fortunately the chapel is never locked so as the sky darkened we at least knew the torch we keep in the car would light our way.
We had a magical hour in that remote spot and Paul got to cross something off his bucket list. So one of the lessons I learned is that it is not always bad to make a mistake and there are times good comes out of it.
