Friday photo – encountering landscapes

Imagine there may be a few California pictures coming up in the blog! This one was taken at the Death Valley Visitor Centre. I love this quotation, it is so apt for many of the places we visited. It was easy to see how hard and unrelenting life may have been for early settlers. We were really careful to have a fullish tank and lots and lots of water when we drove to National Parks where temperatures were above 100. Fear and awe are often two sides of the same thing and these landscapes evoked both and offered glimpses of God.
