In this section, we will list some of media that has inspired us in our ministry. We will leave it to your discernment and amusement to guess if these are mutual or individual! Unless Sally is too embarrassed, and makes me say. So, in no particular order

Days out in Cornwall and Devon

  1. Seaton for breakfast atthe Beach cafe. Drive along SE corner of Cornwall to Cawand and Kingsand. Rame Head for a walk and lunch at Old Bakery in Kingsand. Hire a kayak etc from the beach.
  2. Plymouth Hoe and Barbican. Nice walk, cafes and shops. Smeatons tower (original lighthouse)
  3. Torcross, breakfast at Seabreeze. Walk along the beach and to Start Point lighthouse. Pop into Salcombe or Dartmouth
  4. Launceston for breakfast at Little Bakehouse (sourdough croissants) then onto Bodmin, Hurlers stones and Minions heritage centre and tea shop. Mining museum. Golitha Falls walk.
  5. Bude, breakfast in Wroes, walk either way along the coast. Hire a beach hut in the summer
  6. Padstow. Fish and chips at Rick Steins, nice shops, harbour and beach. Ferry to Rock and walk along the dunes to St Enodoc Church. Or visa versa.
  7. Surfing, body boarding at Polzeath. Park on the beach, walk left along the coast. Pop into Port Isaac (home of Dr Martin).
  8. Cycle. Wadebridge to Padstow along old railway line.
  9. Tintagal and Boscastle.
  10. St Austell, breakfast and visit to Brewery. beach at Carlyon Bay. Gribbon Head lighthouse open on Sundays in the summer.
  11. Dartmoor. Breakfast at The cafe on the greeen. Nice sheepskins in local shop, the Smithy. Two bridges for afternoon tea.
  12. Looe. Hannafore for a walk, tea at kiosk or hotel, great view to island. Boat trip to island. Tea at Taliland bay beach cafe, great beach huts to sit in or hotel.
  13. Morwenstow. Church, walk to Hawkers hut and cake at Rectory Farm
  14. Local National Trust: Cotehele, nice walk along the river to Calstock and the other way to the mill.
  15. Berry Head. Nice walk and cafes.
  16. Dartmoor places of interest. Postbridge clapper bridge, Grimspound, Haytor rocks and Houndtor, Merrivale, standing stones, Dartmeet.
  17. Fowey. Nice town, plenty of cafes. Short walk to Readymoney cove and castle.
  18. Buckland NT (home of Sir Frances Drake) and walk and cafe at Lopwell Weir.
  19. St Ives by car or train. Tate gallery and beaches etc. If by car, add St Micheal’s Mount or seals at Mullion cove, Godrevy head.
  20. Pirran sands. home of Celtic spirituality in Cornwall, church, cross, oratory. Lovely walk over dunes.
  21. Sitting in our summer house watching the tide, boats and birds come in and out. Gin tasting and cooking fish for dinner. Kayaking off the garden or old pub slipway.
  22. Plays at outdoor theatres, Sterts (Bodmin) or Minack (Penzance). Also check out arts centre at Calstock.
  23. Open air bus between St Ives, Marazion and Lands End.
  24. Walking the prom between Penzance and Mousehole.
  25. St Just in Roseland. Beautiful spot. National Trust at Trellisick.
  26. From the cottage. Walk up Coombe Lane or on the foreshore south towards Landulph.
  27. Golf: St Mellion Nicklaus course, Tavistock, Yelverton, Bude.
  28. Wet days. Buckfast Abbey, Darlington craft centre. St Austell brewery. Sea life centre, Eden Project. Cinema in Plymouth and long breakfast at Harvester, Plympton. Jo Down factory shop in Launceston. Dartington factory shop in Torrington. Reading and dozing in the summerhouse.
  29. Breakfasts. Beach cafe, Seaton (Cornwall). Little Bakehouse, Launceston. Cafe on the green, Widecombe on the Moor. Wroes, Bude. Seabreeze, Torcross. Royal Plymouth Yacht club and Waterfront (free parking) the Hoe, Plymouth. Route 38 diner, Trerulefort . Summerhouse, tastes better after kayaking of the garden!
